Who are Redfinn Boats ?
Redfinn Boats Limited is a high tech UK company and was founded by Mr Eugene McKiernan, a former research scientist with more than 50 years fishing experience. Over eight years of planning, designing, developing and refining passed before the Redfinn range of boats was perfected with what we now believe to be the perfect range sea-angling boats. Mr McKiernan commissioned John Moxham of Southampton to design the Redfinn range of boats. John Moxham, a former aircraft designer, has been successfully designing boats for more than 25 years.
Like the Japan motor industry, we have benefited from hindsight. Rising oil prices, declining fish stocks & new EU safety regulations were all taken into account on John Moxham’s drawing board. The Redfinns of exceptional efficiency & quality proved expensive. A trade delegation from the Philippines solved this problem. Two expatriates : Dermot McDermott from Kingscourt & Martin Crockford from Bristol who have built up a boat business in the Philippines over the past 35 years joined the Redfinn Team. The Philippines are 100 million people living on 7500 islands just north of the equator, Korea, China & Japan, north of them & Australia south.
The new Redfinn 13,708 & 10,008 will be built to each customer requirements with more than 30 species of hardwood native and in abundance & luxurious water-buffalo hide for upholstery luxury comes easy. Style and beauty does too, with a people who have carved hardwoods for thousands of years. Lignum Vitae and many other hardwoods that defy nails and saws are in abundance. The boats will be built in the Philippines. Engines and electronics will be installed in Eastbourne. The official launch of the latest Redfinn 6008 is at the 2007 Southampton Boat Show. Production of the new 10,008 and 13,708 models will be commencing in early 2008.
